On 18 August 2020, the Federal Ministry of Finance confirmed in a BMF letter that 30 September 2020 is the deadline for the mandatory use of a technical security device (TSE) in cash registers.
In contrast, nearly all states have announced an extension of the non-objection period until March 31, 2021. However, a prerequisite for claiming the extension of the deadline is that a binding order for retrofitting must be placed with the cash register dealer in good time. The following deadlines apply in the federal states for commissioning retrofitting:
- 30.08.2020: Berlin
- 31.08.2020: Brandenburg, Lower Saxony, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saxony
- 30.09.2020: Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Hamburg, Hesse, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, North Rhine-Westphalia, Saarland, Saxony-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein, Thuringia
- no delay: Bremen
Advantage for all customers of SCHULTES POS systems: Already since January 2020 the cash registers of the S-700 bluepos® series can be upgraded with the Swissbit TSE.
Act now and order the TSE from your SCHULTES dealer: 30.09.2020 is the decisive date in any case!
