The printer has been part of the standard periphery at the point of sale not only since the introduction of the obligation to issue receipts. Whether as classic invoice printer, receipt printer or order receipt printer for kitchen and service – the application possibilities of POS printers in gastronomy and trade are manifold. Network printers allow a flexible choice of location and uncomplicated use in the cash register network. Compact belt printers with W-LAN or Bluetooth interfaces even allow mobile invoice printing directly at the customer’s premises. Depending on the application scenario, different printing processes are used. Thermal printers, for example, enable fast receipt output with low maintenance and printing costs, while a dirt-resistant dot matrix printer is particularly suitable for use as a kitchen printer due to its heat-resistant printouts.
